We started to produce a rough cutter again from many customers’ requests. As you might imagine, nobody uses a Polishmaster anymore for more than 10 years here in Japan. That’s why our business was also extinguished at the same time. Nevertheless, there are many engraving companies still making cylinders by Polishmaster in other countries.

If you are not satisfied with your current use of a rough cutter by its quality, price, delivery time or other reasons, why don’t you try our model one time?
It might be a good opportunity to compare different models.
In our case, we do a “secret method” on the finishing.
You will probably get more beautiful surface roughness and longevity at the same time.

As you might know, we moved our office from Yokohama to Tokyo last October. Syntek was established originally in Shinagawa, Tokyo in 1978. Our office and factory were there until 2008. Now we are right back where we started. We just made a short video introducing our company.

When you exchange the used(dull) burr cutter to the new one, sometimes it takes time to set it up. Especially if you try to arrange the right and left parallelism correctly, you may screw up again and again. The setting time depends on the skills of operators. We would say the approximate exchange time is between 15 minutes to 90 minutes.

Some people are OK to wait for the term, however some others are not acceptable if it takes more than 1 hour.
You cannot run the machine during that period as you might know.
That is the reason we developed this detachable burr cutter.
Once you use it, you just remove the blade part. You will never arrange the parallelism anymore.
We would say, the changing time is no more than 2 minutes.

Are you satisfied with the current width of diamond knives? Especially if you prefer to use “ULTRA” for ultrathin sectioning, 4mm was the maximum so far. It seems this record was broken by a knife manufacturer such as 8mm ultra 45-degree. We were very surprised when we heard that news. This is a marvelous revolution in this ultra-knife field.

Someone says “Records are made to be broken.”  We totally agree with this message.
This is our turn, isn’t this?  Can we win this time?  Why not?
Syntek sets a new record for the above 8mm.
We will provide you 10mm Ultra: both 35-degree and 45-degree.
That’s more like it, isn’t it?

If you would like to cut hard materials, there is no reason to choose diamond knives every time. As you might know, the edge of a diamond is very sharp but fragile because of its sharpness. Some people, maybe you too, refrain from using diamond knives to observe certain materials. There should be alternative methods to get good results, we have been considering.

We may solve your concerns if you have some due to the reasons above.
Our metallic, non-diamond, knife seems to cut hard samples or compounded(soft and hard) ones.
This knife is not only superior to get a good block surface but also get nice semi-thin sections between 1 micron to 20 micron thickness.
Blade width have 3 types that are 10mm, 20mm and 30mm!
If you have hesitated to cut some samples before, you will get totally different results with this “SYM Metalica.” 

We will exhibit at The 41st International Conference of the　Microscopy Society of Thailand (MST41) in Chiang Mai in early June. The conference will take place from Tuesday 4th to Saturday 8th. As you might know, Chiang Mai is formally known as the capital of Thailand in the old days. You will see many historic buildings and areas there. You must find new things and get wonderful experiences as different as Bangkok and the other tiny islands you’ve ever been.

After you hike up a steep hill, the wonderful view is waiting for you on the top. If you don’t get any treats, you may not want to climb up the slope. Even in the city, the situation is similar; You see people’s faces who pass each other on the sloping path. On the other hand, you don’t see everyone’s face on level ground.

Sometimes the slope has unexpected drama that flat areas don’t have.
We would say that is the same as section collection. Slope makes it dramatic.
We produced this new gadget “SYM Cuesta” for the above reasons.

We will share one more good news with you. This knife is made for people who want to do 3D structure well. If you are trying to cut several hundred sections at the same time, this knife is the best choice for your observation. This square shape boat is designed to fit on a 3-inch wafer.

This knife let the water out from the boat same as our JUMBO WT knife.
It is available to put all sections on this wafer easily.
Once you are ready to count all sections in order from the 1st to the end, there is no reason to choose other knives except “SYM Quadra / Tres.”
If you would like to put a 4-inch wafer into the boat, we will provide it for you, of course.

Some people have been feeling current JUMBO knife boat is not so good to be set glass plate or silicon wafer with stability.
Especially, if you would like to set it close to the knife blade, you may get more stress because of the unbalanced shape of boat.
If you use this knife “Noventa / 90”, you won’t feel that kind of irritation anymore.

We will inform you that Syntek will have year-end through New Year holiday breaks from Friday 29th of December 2023 to Thursday 4rd of January 2024. During this shutdown period, we will be unable to receive any deliveries for goods and services to us, Syntek. We will start both our office and factory again from Friday 5th of January.

As you might know, we have 12 different zodiac signs that are based in Chinese history here in Japan.
The animal symbol will be changed from Rabbit to Dragon in 2024.
Dragon is symbolized as “develop” and “success.”
We understand that almost all countries have been under a difficult situation for a couple of years.
Even so, let’s go up higher place from those severe conditions next year together!
