Bulletin Board

Dear Sir/Madom,
We are reseaching ultrahigh-pressure unit, based in Germany.
We are very much interested to buy the products from your company;
Please give us with more informations about your products and your last asking price per unit.
Looking forward in hearing from you soon concerning this our requested offer.
Best Regards,

Thank you for asking our products.
You may found us from our website, so what kind of materials are you interested in?
We have various kind of products and price depends on its specification.
Please tell us which one you would like to know.
Then we will give you more information.

Thanks for your message.
I need you to give us the price per unit of the following products;
diamond anvil and DAC.
We will make our order once we have the price of the products above.
We will give you our e-mail address and hope to hear from you soon.

Thank you for waiting.
I sent an e-mail with price list of our standard type “diamond anvil and diamond anvil cell”.
Please check them out.
I hope you find them informative.
If you have any questions, please let me know.

Can you provide cvd crystals?
If so, I have some questions.

Thank you for asking.
We sell cvd single-crystal diamonds.
If you need specific information, please send an e-mail directly to us.

We are interested in your diamond stylus.
Is that possible to give us some sample products?

Yes, we can give you 1 sample stylus for 1 machine.
However, it is one-way(disposable) type, not reusable one.
If you don’t mind it, please tell us its type (Helio, Ohio, or Valcus) and edge-angle.

Good to hear!
We will tell you the details soon.
Do we have to wait too long to get your sample?

Usually, we have some stock for each type.
Look forward to getting your next message.
Thanks.

Sounds good.
We will tell you our request by e-mail soon.
Ciao :-)

Well, hello to Syntek. I’m in Hasselt, Belgium for attending SBDD2010.
I saw your poster and I wanna ask you something about diamond surface polishing.
Where are you right now? Shall we meet somewhere in the culture center tomorrow afternoon?

Sorry, we are not planning to attend SBDD this year.
We wish we could, but it was difficult to arrange our schedule.
So, if you have some questions, please ask us now.

Oh, really. That’s good to hear. Thanks!
I’m gonna ask you something from now on.
How do you measure surface roughness?
What (kind of) measurement devices do you use?

We just measure a material by DIC (Differential Interference Contrast Microscope).
We don’t have any expensive digital surface measurement devices, like AFM or others.
It is difficult to quantify the surface roughness by microscope (DIC) or man’s eyes.
But, usually we check it 3 times till the shipping.

OK, I got it.
Let me say next question.
Does roughness always be less than 1nm?

As far as I know, the items which are passed our test get less than 1nm on average by our customers’ feedback.
*See AFM pictures on our flyer.
As you know, each diamond has different personality.
They are influenced by manufacture or production lot.
Therefore, our engineers check its best lapping direction each time.
If diamond has sectors, nitrogen agglomerates, or some inclusions, lapping going to be difficult, because there’re hardness difference between sectors and others.
Of course, we always aim high, get a mark of 100.
But, if the diamond’s quality is not so good, we lap it as much as we can.

Sure, I know what you mean, Sir.
All rihgt, next one.
How much difference do you have on your experiment when you use the smooth surface substrates?

Good question.
Acutally, it’s difficult to say.
It depends on each experiment.
It’s difficult to say how much and our customers don’t tell us.
But, on the whole, (almost) all customers are satisfied our lapping.
So, we’ve been getting the lapping continuously from them.

OK. That’s not bad.
In the meantime, can you lap it direction 111?

Yes, we can.
E6 do not sell the material which is 111, but SEI in Japan does it, if we remember correctly.
If you cannot get is, we’ll get the materials and lap them, then ship them instead of you.
Up to you.

Do you lap polycrystalline film like CVD?

We do polish the single-crystal film which has crystal orientation.
But poly crystal is difficult to do.

About a plate size, how large do you polish?

Approximately, 5 to 6 mm on a side.
If you want larger one, there’s a possibility that finish surface roughness is getting worse.
We’re still under study for a larger surface polishing.

Uh-huh.
How much is the minimum thickness?

We need it is more than 0.4mm thick, if possible.
We can polish a thinner one, but it is more likely to break up.

All righty. That’s about it.
As you say on a poster, you can polish 3 plates for free.
Am I right?

Yes, why don’t you send us your sample when you back your home?

Yeah, I’ll definitely do it.
I’ll send you an e-mail and ask you more details soon.
Thanks a lot!

It’s our pleasure.
We look forward to getting your e-mail and sample, too.
Have a good day!

I’m interested in your diamond stylus.
I wanna try your products as a sample.
Can you send me a couple of items?

Thank you for asking about our stylus.
I will give you it without charge, but one stylus for one company as a general rule.
If you do not mind it, it is our pleasure to send our stylus as a sample.
