You might have known that an ultrahigh pressure international conference, AIRAPT-23 will be held in Mumbai, India from Sep. 25 to Sep. 30th.

We think this symposium will be very productive and prospective.
Unfortunately, we Syntek will not join this time, but will place an ad in the book that is distributed in there.

NDNC2011 in Matsue, Japan

We ran a booth at NDNC 2011 from May 17th to 20 in “Kunibiki-Messe”, Matsue city, Japan.
This is an international conference and NDNC stands for New Diamond and Nano Carbons.
This year’s which was 5th and many people came to the place even it was taken place where access is not so easy from every international airport in our country.
Actually, I was very surprised and always felt energy from all participants during the meeting.

Oh, don’t get me wrong. Matsue is far from metropolises as I told above, but very historic and scenic area.
You should visit there if you have enough time in your schedule.
Especially, “Izumo-shrine” is one of the most important historical buildings in Japan.
Plus, you can get fresh, ambrosial seafood throughout the calendar year, if you want.

We showed our original works and products to attendants from various countries like U.S.A., Canada, U.K. France, Germany, Italy, India, China, Taiwan, and etc.
The real eye-catchers this conference are diamond substrate polishing, new diamond stylus, and educational DAC “SEED.”
All products have been received well. To be honest, it was higher-than-expected responses. I identified our direction is correct from everyone’s feedback.
Especially, we give you sample work without charge for diamond substrate polishing and diamond stylus.
If you are interested in something, please feel free to inquire.

About “Golden week” holidays

Our office and factory will be closed from Friday, April 28th to Sunday, May 1st and from Tuesday, May 3rd to Thursday, May 5th following Japanese calendar.
It is part of national holidays in late spring and we call it “Golden week.” You may be unfamiliar with these holidays but a lot of Japanese companies take off in this season.
If you need any order such like diamond anvils, DACs and diamond stylus and etc. in hurry, it would be helpful if you tell us your delivery requirements in advance.

We will operate on Monday, May 2nd and Friday, May 6th as usual.
If you need further information, please do not hesitate to ask. Thank you.

Continuing operation as usual

Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) have changed the groups of rolling blackouts and started new schedule since last weekend (March 25th).
Fortunately, our factory is out of its region. Even so, we are trying to turn off the lights and air conditioner as much as we can.
That might be just one small step for one company, but from small beginnings come great things.

Anyway, we can keep producing our products with 100% capacity.
If you order stylus, diamond anvil cell or other diamond products, we will supply them as normal delivery time.
We really hope victims of earthquakes will resume their daily life and every problem will be under control soon.
Let’s live by helping each other!!

About Implementation Plan of Rolling Blackouts

Although you may already know, some parts of Tokyo metropolitan region in Japan have been affected
the “rolling blackouts” by Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) since last week.
However, Syntek is out of above coverage area.
We will continue our services and productions as usual.
The situation may be changed our balance between energy supply and demand in the future.
So, we will let you know when we get the latest news.
Hope things look better for us soon!

We do not have any damages by earthquake

First of all, please allow us to express our deepest sympathy
for victims of massive earthquake and tsunami in Tohoku area in Japan.
And we support stability and reconstruction in there as much as we can.

We Syntek are operating as usual since Tuesday, March 15, 2011.
Like other people, our factory felt the shock of earthquake a lot then, but everyone was all right.
We do not have any problems about our production capability.
And we have not had any electric power shortage, either, so far.
Please let us know if you have any questions or comments.

Diamond surface polishing

We will give you a “new face.”

The surface of a single crystal diamond has millions of polishing flaws which can have a huge impact on your experiments.
You can reduce the effect of epitaxial growth and other flaws by our polishing method.
We can also lap CVD diamond if it has a crystal orientation.

You can try our polishing with no obligation.
We will do it no charge, up to 3 plates with sizes less than 4 x 4 mm (100).
Please send us your single crystal diamonds!

[ Remarks ]
1. Initially capsulize nitrogen or other materials are still left behind.
2. It is possible the end result will have different conditions that depend on the quality of the diamond.
3. We cannot polish without receiving the crystal orientation.

Participate in exhibition, “Mono-zukuri, 2009″

We set up booth at Mono-zukuri taikan stadium 2009 with “Beginning diamonds” as our theme.
This event took place on Sat. 19th to Sun. 20th September at Makuhari-Messe in Chiba-prefecture.
“Mono-zukuri” means manufacturing and this event targets for children who are interested in science, chemistry, physics, engineering and art.
We, Syntek divided our booth into 2 categories.
One of them is “what is diamond?” and another one is “Let’s make ice from water with learning cell.”
We asked many kids to try some simple experiments with diamonds.
We got about 3,000 visitors total above both days, and we felt almost all visitors are satisfied our various experiments.
It looked like a lot of kids are interested in diamonds which are not only for gems.
Everybody felt something familiar to diamonds.
We would like to broaden the related people for industrial diamonds and really hoped this function that this is of some use for every promising child.
Hopefully, some of participants will be a great researcher, scholar, professor, or Nobel Prize winners in the future.
